Question about the 3600/4600

Mar 2, 2009 12:57PM PST

I just tried to return my bdp-2500 due to a very noisy fan. The sales person said that he just sold the display this morning and only one other store has a display. He said that the 3600 will be out this month, and unless I wanted the other store's display will have to wait.

HD_Tech, do you know if the fan on the 3600/4600 is any better? Perhaps temperature speed controlled?

Also, except for wifi, and Pandora, do you know what other features the 3600/4600 will have?

Finally, is the only difference between the 3600 and 4600 is wall mounting for the 4600?

Thanks!

The_Pickle,

I'll have a lot more information on the finalized specifications in the next week or so.

3600 is out!

Just saw the bd-p3600 at BestBuy. No 4600 yet.

The only question I have, is, what is the difference between the 4600 and 3600? I konw the 4600 is wall mountable, and do not have external inputs for 7.1 audio. But, is that it? Is the video processing/quality the same?

The_Pickle,

The best information I have of right now is that yes, that is correct. I will be able to confirm that next week.

I will have to wait a few weeks before the store I am going to get it from to get either model in anyways. Being a small west coast chain, they are a few weeks behind the big boys from getting new models in. I just want to make sure there are no "extra" features I will be missing from the 4600. I am starting to regret buying the 5 series I have and wished I had spent the extra to try to get a 6 or 7 series instead. Don't want to make the same mistake again.

I was surprised to here that the 4600 is considered the "flagship" model. I would imagine that Samsung would have a high end audio/videophile model as well.
