Question about remaining disc space

Jun 5, 2005 10:54PM PDT

I've just upgraded from Windows ME to XP. This is a dumb question, but I was in the habit of checking my remaining disc space almost daily in explorer, and XP no longer shows me that. It used to appear at the bottom of the screen right above the tool bar. This was helpful for me because if there was ever a big change, I would know if one of my kids downloaded something that I may not have wanted them to. Can anyone tell me where this went or how to get it back??

Question about remaining.......
Jun 6, 2005 3:47AM PDT

I'm sure there are easier ways to do this in XP, but here's one: Go to: Start; all programs; accesories; system tools; defragment. A table will come up which lists your drive sizes and free space remaining.

Double-click on ''My Computer'' and, if you want to see the pie, right-click the local disk then click properties.
