Question

Question about refurbished ipads from apple.com and walmart.

Oct 7, 2012 3:05PM PDT

I've seen that walmart has a refurbished ipad 2 for $339, and I'm tempted, but I've heard that the refurbished ipads from the apple store are a better choice. I've seen videos on youtube of people unboxing refurbished ipads mailed to them from apple, and they come in a box with the apple logo, basically the entire package looks brand new, would I get the same by buying through walmart.com? has anyone here done this before?

Maybe.

So far, Walmart is simply a vendor of boxes with stuff in the boxes. They have not shown any inclination to be the refurbisher of any device.

My thoughts on this is that I'd get it from Apple. (period.) Or get the new Kindle Fire HD.

I'll bet the refurbs at Walmart are from Apple and were refurbished by Apple. I've bought a number of refurbished items and have only had to return one. Most of the time they come in original packaging and look like new.
