I had the interested buyer call me and then I made a 3rd call to support. We told them I owned the product originally and that I was going to sell it to another person and we asked about registration and at first they kept telling us how to register the product. We were finally able to explain what we wanted in a way they understood and they couldn't help us. It was "outside of their limitations". The buyer asked the rep if they knew who could help with that and they said no. The buyer told me it was fine and he wouldn't worry with it and bought it anyway.
Hello,
It's been a while since I've been on the forum. I'm stumped and I remembered how helpful CNET forums have been for me in the past.
Forgive me if I'm not posting in exactly the right place. I figured under software, subcategory design software was the closest.
I am selling visual studio 2008 but I want to be legit about it. I worked for a company that bought us our laptops and all of our software and we would install everything ourselves and at each 1 year mark we would have the opportunity to purchase our pc and what's on it at a discounted price and they would purchase a new one for you to work on. Since it was a software company with a lot of developers (not including yours truly, as I was in sales) they wanted us to stay up to date on the latest MS OS, Office products and developing tools. While I was there I took some interest in learning how to do some advanced web design and I started learning flash and wanted to learn Visual Studio. Since our company already bought many copies of this I asked for it to learn and was provided a copy. When I purchased the computer they knew I took VS with me along with office08 and vista pro.
Now I have no reason to have VS and I've since installed Win7 on my machine, I want to sell it. The only thing is I want to know about transferring the product or if I even registered it to begin with. I've googled all sorts of things and can only find a FAQ that doesn't answer my question. After all this typing and explaining, my small question is, can someone help me with a more intuitive site that may let me put in numbers off my disc with my product key to check whether I ran the registration process through to an end or possibly call a number and speak with a someone who could help me? I still have the plastic swing open case, all three pamphlets within it, the disc and my product key. Obviously a real developer would benefit from registering such a product and I wouldn't want to prevent someone from doing that if I've sold it to them.
To anyone reading and or replying, thanks for your time and possible help.
Regards
