Question about old canon lenses with new canon cameras

Nov 7, 2009 1:31AM PST

I have a somewhat embarrassing question.

I've been photographing for a few years now and I wanted to get a prime lens for the new Canon T1i that I bought.

On ebay I saw a great deal on a 50 mm prime f1.4 lens. Unfortunately when I recieved it in the mail I found out that it is an old film lens for SLRs and does not fit the camera body for my camera.

Is there an adaptor I can buy to make the lens fit the body of my camera?

Thank you for your help.
