Question about memory slots

Why is it that when I run Belarc or Everest, it says I have 4 memory slots. When I took the cover off to install more memory, I could find only 2. Confused.

Short answer.

Belarc can't count the number of physical slots. It may detect the chipset could support 4, but the system only came with 2 and therefore you have to do the visual inspection. Got it?
