Question about home router

Jan 19, 2006 4:01AM PST

I have a desktop and a laptop that I want to be able to use with a router from my Comcast internet connection. I also have a laser printer that I'd like to be able to share with the 2 computers without having to switch the USB cable. I'm looking for recommendations for a router that will accomplish these tasks. I'd appreciate any help because I have no knowledge about this kind of equipment!

.....will allow you to network your printer. The alternative would be to share the printer, but the computer to which it is connected would have to be on in order for other computers to use it.

To set up a home network you basically need a router, and a wireless adapter for each computer you want to use the network. Many computers come with wireless adapters nowadays; if yours didn't, you can buy them for around $35 or so.

If this is new to you, I suggest you browse through this forum and read up on it, especially the subject of wireless network security.
