Question About Canon PowerShot S2 IS

Hm... I know I ask a lot of questions on here, and I know it's annoying to have a n00b flooding the baords, but since I don't have a job, I really want to make a good, educated purchase.

If you haven't seen any of my other posts, I'm going to try to take pictures for my local newspaper for cash throughout High School. It's a pretty small newspaper, so it's not like I need a Digital Rebel or anything like that, but I was just wondering this:

Would the Canon PowerShot S2 IS be alright for my job?- the job would be taking pictures at different sporting events. It seems tobe a pretty good camera, and VERY reasonably priced.

If you have used the camera, I would love to hear what you have to say.

Canon S2 IS

The S2 IS should be a good camera for sporting events.
It has continous shooting ability which will be very helpful with action shots.

Photographing sporting events in low light situations will be a problem. As it is with all cameras. For these situations, many times you will need a tripod.
