Question about cable to tv to vcr

Feb 23, 2005 9:31AM PST

Hello. I am new to the board and am looking for help. Recently had a cable guy come to the house to fix a modem problem and in fixing this ruined our tv/cable/vcr setup. We can't remember how to hook it up now. This is what we used to be able to do: we had cable on our tv and cable running to our vcr. This allowed us to tape a show on the vcr and watch something else on our tv at the same time. Our remote has a tv/vcr button which we used to switch. Currently we have a 4 way splitter that our main cable runs too. The cable guy has a cable running from the splitter to our cable computer modem. We have 3 holes left and cannot figure out how to have the same set-up as before. Anyone that could help with this, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I would say run a co-ax cable from the splitter to the tv; also run one from splitter to vcr.

video and audio cables from vcr/av_out to tv/av-vid_in.

Another way maybe just a co-ax cable from splitter to vcr_in then vcr/out-coax to tv/ant.-in. Good luck.
