Oct 30, 2004 2:32PM PDT

I have a D-link DI-624 wireless network. Will a panasonic 2.4ghz cordless phone interfere with my wireless network? Should I upgrade our phones to 5.8ghz?

A = No
B&G = Yes depending on the positioning of the phones in relation to the wireless devices. Trial and error will tell.

"Should I upgrade our phones to 5.8ghz?"

Only when interference is evident and unavoidable.

Hi I have a SMC 802.11b router, 2 Vtech 2.4 gig digital spread spectrum phones, another cheaper 2.4 gig phone.
I use a Dell Inspiron 5160 with a build in wireless adapter and I still get a very nice data throughput.

My router and Vtech base station are about 13 feet apart.
I get about 840 kilobytes/sec on my wired network downloading from one on my Linux machines and about 600 kilobytes/second wirelessly.

Walter.
