No they don't. Perhaps you are confusing cables for USB(1) (speed up to 12Mbps) and USB 2 (speed up to 480Mbps). Those look the same. And, in fact, the cable ends not only look the same they are the same. The difference in the cables is simply what they are spec'ed at. The higher speed cables are generally better shielded to handle the higher speed without noise influence.
The real difference in USB and USB 2 is the circuits and the drivers that the cables are connected to, not the cables themselves.
