pmirage77,
The Set Clock feature only works for the tuner inside of the television. You might try getting a pair of rabbit ears to get a channel of local programming for the parrot while you're away. You can set it to a channel, and it will show live TV.
A quick review also notes that you can have music or videos run off a USB thumbdrive if you'd prefer to select the content that plays while you're away.
I hope that helps.

Forgive this new user question. Have a LN46A850 - Love it. Wife and I travel a bit and prior to dragging self and her into 21st C. used to leave TV cartoons on for the parrot to keep him entertained. Afraid of burn etc by leaving on all day, I wanted to set up a time sequence on the TV where it would go on for a couple of hours every day. currently I've set the system up to use the DTV remote. I programmed the TV for the times by switching to Set Clock etc in the Samsung but the TV never came on. I think it's because the TV can't turn on the satellite box. Should I switch control from the DRV remote to the TV remote? If YES how do I stop rescind the control of the DTV remote. Right now the TV remote does not seem to work.
