Quad Core vs. Dual Core

by eliwuzhere / March 16, 2009 12:49 PM PDT

Just looking at some Gateway FX laptops and i noticed that one has a quad core. Just wondering what is actually better for heavy multi tasking, like i'm not a complete coder or anything, but i do run my computers pretty hard. the computers are:

Gateway P-7805u FX P8400 (2.26GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 3MB L2 Cache)
320GB 7200rpm

Gateway P-7808u FX Q9000 (2.00GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 6MB L2 Cache)
500GB 5400rpm

Just wondering what you think
