quad core help!!!

hey,

im looking at a new desktop computer custom built which needs to be fast,never lag,use all programs and play games with ample memory ... i dont know any thing about ram etc so this is one i found

im not that into gaming, jsut want the ability to play some mostly programs like word excel photoshop..... will 4gb of ram make it faster?

The system specs you listed is somewhat adiquate for your needs. Dell provides a very nice manual that wil instruct you on how to change ram or even a video card if you like. In today's age you can never have too much ram but if it fits your budget now you can always add ram and differant upgrades to enhance your functionality. I have bought a computer for 250.00 at Dell, upgraded some componants and now have a verry happy teenager that can play most games for under 350.00 Total.. Gamers do like all the bells and whistles but most Dell computers are the same base: motherboard, power suply , and case as the more expensive ones. The differance is the processor, ram, hard drive , and video package. Most onboard video is adiquate to handle most uses but do require more system ram because that is what it derives its memory from.
