quad band phone suggestions please

by Auryn / August 14, 2007 4:01 AM PDT

Hi all
Im most likely going to be needing to buy a new cell phone in the next few months.
I travel to Europe at least a couple of times a year for work and to visit family.
In the coming year the traveling is going to become a lot more extensive.
I mainly go to Italy but will hopefully be going to the UK, Germany etc.
So I figured I should make my new phone a quad band.

I have my service through Cingular/ATT and would prefer to get a new gsm card when I get to europe rather than use 'roaming' att minutes.

I need the phone mainly to talk. Dont care about the camera part.
dont really care about mp3 playback.
I just want something that has good reception, good talk battery life and that doesnt turn into a lit charcoal briquette if I talk more than a few minutes.

all suggestions greatly appreciated.

Motorola V3 Razr is the phone for you
by gstaytru / August 15, 2007 11:36 AM PDT

Since you have ATT service, you can probably get the Razr for free (after signing a 2 year contract extension). Then you can get it unlocked and use it with any local SIM card in Europe. The other option is to purchase an unlocked Razr from Ebay. The reason the Razr is a great choice is because it is quadband and also has great call quality.
