Question

Q's about Vizio's upcoming on-screen menu firmware update

Apr 28, 2017 7:20PM PDT

So Vizio just announced their new line of TV's, and as the news is covering, they are ditching the tablet remote for an on screen menu. Apparently, they are also going to give the same update to people that own the 2016 TV's.

I have a 2016 P-series, and was wondering if anyone has any more info on how this will work. My TV came with a very minimalist remote: there isn't even a menu button. When I chatted with Vizio, they confirmed that my TV will get the update, and the remote should be compatible. I just don't see how that's possible. Anyone have a clue?

One more thing..

I should also mention that the rep said the firmware update is already being rolled out. I have seen no indication of this, and I'm curious if anyone has gotten it yet.

That's where I would look for this very specific info.
