Question

qPCR software always crashes on launch w/ different error

Jul 25, 2017 4:05PM PDT

I'm trying to fix some software on a work computer running windows XP. Here are the full specs: http://imgur.com/a/VjVpz

The software I want to get working is Bio-Rad iQ5 2.1 Standard Edition Optical System Software 2.1.97.1001.

The problem is that every time upon launch, the application generates an exception that could not be handled. It's hard to say exactly what the problem is because the error code changes for each launch as pictured here: http://imgur.com/a/e0dZZ
In addition, when I select cancel to debug the application I'm given this error message: http://imgur.com/a/wbQbb I wouldn't be able to debug this program anyways but perhaps this is a clue as to what's going wrong

So far what I've tried to do is install every windows security pack and .net framework possible to see if it was missing any .dll files. In addition, I tried using dependency walker to check for any missing files but it doesn't work with this program because it uses a 16 bit framework for some of its applications (or something like that). Reinstalling it doesn't help either, and the software works perfectly on a different computer with nearly identical specs. Any suggestions?

They have a support system for this. Also there appear to be some user groups at their site.

I suppose I should've contacted their support earlier. Where are you finding the user groups? The only ones I'm seeing are for in person meet ups.
