Q. Re: Digital Satellite and Condo/Apt. rules (CCRs)

Sep 8, 2005 4:12PM PDT

I am moving into a new condo which will be finished by the builder for a Oct. 1 move in date.

So far the default CCR and Homeowners Bylaws say no satellite dishes and no drilling holes. I read that the FCC laws make it such that these anti-dish rules are unenforceable, with certain limits. Sounds like I can get my DISH but have to keep it hidden, like below my patio fence, which is doable for me (put it on a tripod).

But I am not sure if the DISH Network people can connect without drilling some holes. There are some default cable jacks in various rooms that come with the house (it's clear they want us to have cable, not DISH). Can the DISH people use those jacks so that they don't have to poke any holes?

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated!

Well there are some laws about this. Maybe check with an lawer.
Drilling holes, what part of the building??? Lets see in an apartment you rent, not own. But a Condo you own.
I doubt that you could use the jack for the cable for your dish, since it will have the cable feed on it. John

DONT BUY A CONDO HA HA
Sep 9, 2005 7:10AM PDT

My mobil home looks like a police station ya 3 dishes 40 ft. outside antenna + f.m. Well there is a condo down the street from me and on almost every balcony I see a dish on a trypod, also you can buy a dish that looks like a rock no kidding, that is the reason I bought my cheap mobilhome It had a perfect room for my home theater, and I can stick up as many antennas as I want. Why buy a condo and loose all your freedom ha, ha. I have the DISH 811 hi-def system with the basic hi-def package+VOOM + H.B.O and with my outside antenna I receive 29 hi-def channels HI-DEF heaven
