Putting folders on dvd r disc

My situation. I'm going to restore my HDD because its running slow and has a few problems so i need to take all my music (20gb worth) and store all the folders onto a disc so i can retrieve them later on after i restore.

I have Nero but have tried different methods to store all the separate folders on a DVD-R 4.7gb disc but can't seem to find the right option to do this.

Is there any other software that would help me?

You didn't say what was stopping the process.

Do you have a CD/DVD RW ROM drive, or just a CD RW ROM drive? If just a CD ROM then you won't be able to read or write to DVD's.

Nero should handle both without difficulty.

sorry. yes i do have a DVD RW drive.

Since i have Nero, what option shall I use to store all the folders on?

I've tried many but the bar at the bottom only shows like up to 700mb not the capacity of the 4.7gb disc.

Does Nero have an option when you open it?

With my own Easy CD creator when I first open it it offers me options, one of which is to make a data CD. When I roll over that I get sub-options to make data CD's or data DVD's.

If your Nero is similar then you need to select the DVD option right at the beginning.

What does Nero's Help file say?

I believed they all have this; when you start Nero (startsmart) there is an arrow on top-center, click on it and change it to "cd/dvd" (right now it problaly just said "cd").
