Question

Purchased Win8 upgrade/key first week - now not installing?

Aug 6, 2013 10:03AM PDT

Hi,
I purchased a Win8 upgrade online from microsoft.com the first week it was released, and installed it to a machine fine but some of the drivers didn't work so I uninstalled it (back to XP).

Now, I'm trying to reinstall the same "unused" upgrade on a different machine, and have the product key and receipt, but the "Windows8upgradeAssistant.exe" file now only allows for the purchase of Win8 or Win8 Pro - no ability to input my existing upgrade key?? (Like the last install, using this exact same file, this machine also has XP-SP3.)

Normally you've got a Windows OS disc, and a valid key. ...I've got the key...??

What to do?

Thank you for your time.
