Without checking, I doubt Abe's of Maine is an authorized dealer but you could always call Sony and find out. I have extensive experience with Abe's and they do work hard to fullfill orders, though. Sony honors their warranty whether or not you purchase from an authorized dealer or not so you don't need to worry about that. If you want, I'll go into more detail about how guys who aren't dealers can deliver product. Suffice to say, the authorized guys are more reliable shippers but the unauthorized guys can also deliver when they feel like it. The less add ons you buy at inflated prices, the less likely they are to actually ship, though. However, I bought my Sony TV from an unauthorized dealer with no add ons at all and saved about 700.00 dollars over other sources. It was a hassle and took patience but because I'm cheap, it was worth it for me.
As a retired person confined to home with an illness I saved to buy the KDL46 XBR4. When I looked at the CNET site I see prices differ considerably. The best prices are from Vann`s and Abe of Maine. Vann`s is said to be authorized ( whatever it means). I would appreciate if anybody has an experience, opinion or advise about these two vendors let me know so that i know I ma doing a safe and respectable purchase. Thank you
