Question

pulling text columns into pivot tables

Sep 16, 2015 11:22AM PDT

I have a database that has multiple columns of text that I want to also pull into a pivot table (no data analysis). But can't figure out how to pull them into a single row. For example, in the database, you have 1 field for first name, 1 field for last name. In the pivot table, I want the first name to appear in 1 column and in the same raw next column, I want the last name to appear. So like A4 would be first name, B4 would be last name, C4 could be my data.

Basically, I'm trying to use pivot table to create a subtable of the database with select columns and select rows (I don't want to use filters in the master worksheet) . . . there should be way to do this without complicated formulas but haven't found it.
