Public Newsvine: so far so good.

It seems that if anything, Newsvine has improved now that they've gone public.

Maybe I can lay my fears about it going the way of Digg to rest...

I haven't been on it too much lately since they went public (I've been too busy at work to play around on the 'net .. darn it!), but the time or two I have gotten on there, it seems pretty much intact so far. I really do hope it stays that way.

It has improved... now that it's not so right-wing anymore (now that it has an actual public to report to).

The greenhouse
Mar 14, 2006 12:18PM PST

They added The Greenhouse as a way to introduce new users to the vine, and make sure they are suitable. They also have some smart systems for comment spam, mainly that the ability to put in anchors (making links) is added manually after a member has proven themselves not as a spammer.
Still love The Vine, though you can get a bit lost... wrote a column on the matter. http://fool.newsvine.com
