While the tool is quite nice to own and know how to use, it is possible that improper use or a similar named virus/pest could be a factor here.

Anybody know anything of this? I asked also in the XP forum. It breaks the links to your IP address and prohibits net access. It was v. difficult to find.

Thank you for the good info,Bob. I'm reasonably sure this was a nasty, or had been procured. I never agreed to download it install it or otherwise, but found also this:

Not exactly what I endured but very similar.
Some antivirus programs will call it an "Unwanted program" simply because it is designed to kill processes..It is a legitimate utility by Sysinternals that can be sent with improper programs such as viruses. Just because it was identified as a problem, doesn't mean it is.
