PS3 with ps2 games

if i play my ps2 games on a ps3 will my data be there? (ex. i won a trphy in a racing game on the ps2 will it be there when i play it on the ps3?

Depends on if you use the memory card adapter and use that to load in any save data. Of course the PS3 has been slowly but surely losing back compatibility, so there's no real guarantee you'll be able to play the PS2 game at all.
