PS3 to LCD Monitor (HDCP or not?)

Hi I'm going to purchase an LCD monitor for my PS3 (Currently using a HD projector) and my question is this:

Can you play games using a non-HDCP HDMI-DVI cable on a non-HDCP monitor in High Definition?

I am aware that you cannot watch Blu-ray in High Definition without it but I am just interested in games.

The issue is too iffy to say it will always work. DVI to HDMI has always worked for me but HDMI to DVI is a minefield. I see you know about HDCP but here's the deal. You want HDCP since without it BluRay may not play.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I don't need it for Blu-ray at all as I use the projector for Blu-way and games at the moment and will continue to do so. The reason I'm purchasing the monitor is that some times it would be more convenient for my family if I could play on a monitor rather than take up a whole wall with my gaming.

So I really want to know if anyone has had problems playing games in HD using non-HDCP monitors.

Are being deployed with HDCP protected content. I'm going with no, you don't want to do this.
