PS3 on a PC Monitor... HDCP... Really confused

Nov 23, 2006 6:55AM PST

Hi all, I have a PS3 ordered that should ship very soon (EXTREMELY EXCITED), but I don't own an HDTV. I don't have any free PCI or PCI x slots to pop in a TV Tuner card that could put my PS3 on my monitor. However, I was looking at a Component/Composite/VGA box, Specifically: http://www.vdigi.com/index.php?option=content&task=blogcategory&id=67&Itemid=28. Would this do the trick for putting 720p on a monitor? I don't care for 1080p because my monitor doesn't support it. The thing I'm confused about is HDCP. Will my PS3 have at least 720p on my monitor via that VGA box? Or will HDCP screw it all up?

VGA Box ( Possibly, alternatives are welcome ):

A few days ago I was looking for something to hook up either a next-gen or "last-gen" console and came upon this thread. I'm pretty sure you could use that box as long as you have a VGA input on your monitor. I'm now thinking about buying that box. Thanks for the recommendation.
