Ps3 a failure by perception..;

Sep 22, 2009 4:36AM PDT

Back when the ps3 first launched I was in my first semester of college. When I was given the oportunity in english of a free write, I did it on the forthcoming game war the was to unleash once the wii and the ps3 joined the 360 in the battle for supremacy. As I read my argument to the class, they were all wowed by the ps3 and it's capabilities, and were all demised by it's price. After it's launch there were lots of hints pointing towards the demise of the playstation brand. Many of us speculated about a sudden burst; it just didn't happen, in turn we saw the psp and ps3 in a not so comfortable last place in every major market and chart. The psp got a boost after the slimmed version came while the ps3 was consider by many as a failure. What "many" failed to conceive was the fact that Sony had an agenda, and like a well educated president, it knew how to stick to it. If you put the "fat" ps3 next to a wii and a 360 you would see what I mean. The ps3 didn't look plastic and simple, it used touch resistance, had a shinny surface, used blue-Ray, it felt like a bentley next to a Camryn and a hyundai ( the wii being the former). Not to say that the last two are bad cars but they are not in the same league. And so I now look back at how Things have unraveled and think, "did Sony had this all figured out?". And now I say, yes they did. As the ps did to cd's, and the ps2 did to dvd's the ps brand has served Sony to pull a particulary profitable business besides games "the mass adoption of distribution formats." as much as all of us had criticized Sony for having such an extravagant pricetag for a game console. The fact is that the ps3 was a blu-Ray player and it's now officially a play station. The ps3 followed up in the hills of the ps2 and helped Sony to capturing the throne in the HD war, and now it's moving to phase 2/2. (HD-format war/gaming global war). Now of you put the ps3 next to a wii and a 360 you will see that they are more alike in more than just looks, but price also. Looks like the 10 year cycle of the ps3 does make sence, it just started now. See the game catalogs, the price, the sales, an you will see that I'm not lying to you. Ps3 still has all that superiority xpects but is now well priced and full of games. Most people are too short minded and illed informed to see this and most are in the "Dull drums"(don't know if that's how you spell it) but Sony is right on target with is ps brand. It got as far as to post in the Internet that Sony might sell the ps brand to konami etc, but I guess the best from the ps3 has yet to be seen. Let the Trojan worms crAw it out. Ps(sorry for any bad gramar, my iPhone doesn't do the best job for typing)
