Network Gaming adapter?
Feb 23, 2005 1:37PM PST

D-link makes something called a "Ethernet Bridge or Gaming adapter"

http://www.dlink.ca/product.php?PID=275

This will allow your ps2 to connect to your wireless router downstairs. Your other option would be to run network cable from your router downstairs to the room that your ps2 is in "Happy Gaming"

Hope this helps

Different adapter
Feb 26, 2005 10:50AM PST

try the Linksys Wirless G-Gaming Adapter, I had the same problem as you did with the whole upstairs-downstairs situtation.

http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=33&scid=36&prid=558

Check out the link, and if you do happen to get the adapter, makesure you download the firmware for it, so that it runs more smoothley. The firmware link can be found once you click the link above(it will be on the right side of the screen).

PS2 and ethernet plug...
Feb 26, 2005 4:09PM PST

The ethernet plug from your upstairs PC is an input plug, is it not?
(Never seen an ethernet output jack in the back of a PC)?
I purchased a seperate wireless game adapter (setup was pretty easy..just plugged the adapter to the router (using a lan cable) used software to setup it up(pretty automatic actually) and moved the adapter to the PS2..viola online. (Actually have xbox and ps2 connected to a "lan party' hub going to the wireless adapter. (one catch though...can't have them both on at the same time, but, it works)!!!
Hope tha helped..GL
