Protective screen for 46" LCD

by TigerJon73 / March 29, 2008 12:26 PM PDT

I recently purchased a KDL46XBR4 that is still in the box as I am afraid to take it out. I have a 5 year-old and a 1 year-old and have read in several forums about the screen on an LCD being very delicate. Had I known about this I may have gone w/a plasma instead. After spending a total of nearly $6000 on new living room furnature and the TV I don't feel like spending another $250 to get a protective screen online. So, now I am looking at making a protective screen out of 1/4" Plexiglass. I figured I could cut it about an 1" taller and wider than the screen and use Velcro tape at all four corners to attach. My only fear is whether or not the Velcro will hold. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, what worked best? Thanks.

Jon

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
