Protecting "Documents Folder" Access

Jul 29, 2010 11:56PM PDT

Windows Vista Home Premium.
Please advise how I can protect the Documents folder from being accessed by anyone else using my computer occasionally.
Thanks.

Limited access account.

I wouldn't do that.

I would use another method.

Make sure your own Admin account is password protected. Create a Limited User Account, (not an Admin account), and password that.

Any guest who you allow to use the system, let him have that Limited account password, but no others.

You could just leave the Limited User Account un-passworded, that's up to you, but I would password that account too.

Don't share the PC.

It sounds harsh but even with changes I've shown folk how to boot from USB to get free access to all files. If you value your files, don't share that PC.
