Question

Pros and cons of Pre-ordering a phone

Aug 7, 2016 12:53PM PDT

Hello. As everyone of us know, Galaxy Note 7 is out and pre-orders have been started. I wanted to know what are some pros and cons of pre-ordering a phone. Specifically, the price difference between pre-ordering a phone VS purchasing it at retail price once it's out.
Thanks a ton!

I guess you are new to this. No offense intended

But any version 1.0 of a device will have issues. Then again if you can preorder for a steal of a price, that means you won't be burned as badly.

For me, I will not go back to locked phones unless they are free or 20 bucks. That locked phone is no deal for me. I've BTDT and had a plan with Sprint that I barely got coverage at home. When that was over I listened to CNET about many things and am now on unlocked phones only.

never seen a price difference

I have never seen a price difference between pre order and for a few months after the released. the only real difference is some of the freebies that is offered by some of the retailers if you purchased the phone.

I have pre-ordered my last three phones. in most cases by pre-ordering the phone, you are guarantee it on the released date. I received two of my three pre-ordered phones a few days before the released date. It was fun walking into the local att and have them trying to get me to to order the phone and then me telling them I already have it days before the release date.
