Proprietary Sony HTIB speaker cable plugs

Dec 1, 2004 10:30AM PST

I have the Sony DAV-FR10W HTIB. I want to hook up monster cable, but the proprietary speaker plugs only accept 18-24 gauge. Does anyone know if you can get compatible plugs for this HTIB that accept bigger gauge speaker cable?

The short answer is you leave out a few strands to make it fit.

exactly, though not always the best method it works. Just trim the wire until it fits the port

I am considering purchase of this system. Can you tell me if you were able to use Monster wire with the rear surrounds? What is your satisfaction / experience with Sony's system? Thanks in advance...
