Promise card and SATA DVD burner

by smash / December 12, 2007 3:23 PM PST

I'm in shock. Promise card does not recognize SATA DVD Burner in Windows.

I understand how it may not see it on BIOS level [can't install OS], but it should show up in Windows. Does not!

I have Windows 2003. Promise card is TX4200 FastTrack. LiteOn DVD Burner.

Any suggestions other than buying a new MoBo with SATA onboard?

Are you up-to -date on the controller BIOS
by VAPCMD / December 12, 2007 11:38 PM PST

FastTrak TX4200 v2.5.0.3119

What about the drivers for the controller ?

Any jumpers on the CD to set the mode to 1.5 or 3.0 ?

I don't see this supporting a DVD burner.
