programs not responding

I'm running windows xp and somtimes firefox won't open so I reboot and that will work but I should'nt have to reboot also I get a message "nsappshell not responding"how do I fix this? thank you

this did not help is there anyother sugestions is this a virus?how do I get rid of this file?

I didn't read where you removed (which?) extensions. There is also some issues with some addins and some content.

For example I had the PDF plugin/addin and the PDF I was looking over was causing a lot of not responding messages. I tried the PDF with another machine and not the plugin and same issue.

That experiment told me that the PDF was hooped.

I see Grif has his fine suggestion so try that too.
