Programmable Keyboard

Nov 27, 2005 9:54PM PST

I am looking for a programmable keyboard. I need one where I actually tell the keyboard what to send when I hit a button, not one (which most programmable ones are)that has software running on the PC that interperts keystrokes and re-sends them.

I have a keyboard hooked to a KVM and I want the same key to send the same thing to all hosts hooked to the KVM.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I don't know what you mean with "hooked to a KVM" but the Enterpad is probably a programmable keyboard like you are looking for. I mean you can tell the enterpad what to send when you hit each of its buttons.

What you seem to be looking for

- if you plug in your brain and think about it - seems to be a KVM feature, and not a keyboard feature. Doesn't it?

Many of the more sophisticated KVM's offer broadcast features, where your keystrokes can go to multiple PC's. These do run into the thousands though.

Depending on your needs, it may be cheaper trying to multi-control your machines through the LAN, and not through the KVM.
