When you've gotten your system back like you want it, I urge you to get yourself an external hard drive and a good 3rd party backup program. You can set it up to do everything automagically at the time and frequency of your choice. 1 TB external hard drives are about $50 these days and a really good FREE backup program is the Easeus Todo Backup Free. That can save you a lot of time and frustration the next time something like this happens. Sooner or later it happens to all computers for one reason or another.
Good luck.
I use InspectionXpert for PDF on my work computer quite often. It ran great on Windows 7. I did the Windows 10 "upgrade" but I hated it. My computer didn't have enough RAM to run it efficiently or something. I switched it back to Windows 7, but now the program will not open. When I try, I get the following error message "There has been an unhandled error in the software. If this continues please contact technical support for assistance."
As you may have guessed, technical support was less than helpful. They checked it out and declared it was a Windows error. I talked to Windows tech support; they were also largely unhelpful. Basically, between the two, I've been told the following: Windows is not willing to help since it is a third party software. My only option is to uninstall and reinstall the program. The software is no longer available on a stand alone license and now requires a fairly expensive subscription. They do not have or will not give me the start-up files needed to reinstall the version I have.
Does this software error sound familiar to anyone? What could I try to get it to work again? My computer literacy is novice level, so please either keep it easy or explain it in painful detail. Thank you.
