Program won't open...

Jun 27, 2004 5:22AM PDT

Here is my current problem. When I go to run a certain program, it appears as though it will open but after about 5 seconds, everything stops and nothing even happened. When I check my running processes in the Task Manager, the program is a running task but is getting no CPU time...it reads 00. When I try running the program in compatibility mode, it opens then gives me a run-time error; out of memory. I've tried anything I can think of and had no luck, anyone know a solution to this problem? Thanks.

Operating System: Windows XP
Processor: Pentium 4 2.8ghz Hyper Threading
Memory: 512mb DDR (PC2700)

Yeah, it is only this one program. I have scanned it for viruses, downloaded it multiple times in case it was contained and unzipped in a corrupted file. None of that worked. The file is called CX.exe. It is a purchase/distribution program made by Flight1.com to sell their aircraft. I already contacted their website and I am the first one to have this issue.

Stuffer,

If the program is that simple, are you sure that it's a standard Windows program. Windows XP doesn't run DOS style programs well unless they're run from a command line. Try placing the CX.exe file on the desktop, then open a command line window by clicking on Start-Run, type "cmd" (without the quotes). When the command line loads, you should see:

C:\Documents and Settings\Username>

At the end of that line, type so it looks like this:

C:\Documents and Settings\Username>desktop\CX.exe

Now press the "Enter" key. Does it work correctly now?

Hope this helps.

Didn't work doing that because it is a widows based program. It did the same thing it did trying to open it from the desktop, starts a running process but nothing happens.

Thanks for trying to help me out. I'd tried on the websites forum and had no luck there and I stumbled upon this forum and thought I'd give it a try here. As I said on their forum, I guess the program wasn't meant to run on my comp.

Yeah, I've already read through that multiple times. What I HAVE been able to figure out is that it's a problem with the newest version of the wrapper and my computer. I can run older versions of the wrapper program just fine, but these don't run(the new ones). Talked to the design group's head person about it, might be able to get me an older version of the program so I can use it.
