Question

Program will nor open on screen in XP

Nov 17, 2013 2:35AM PST

I have installed Converterlite on a Gateway Laptop using Windows XP. When I double click on the program it will show up on the taskbar but not open on the screen. I have tried right clicking the taskbar icon with no response. I have tried clicking and double clicking the taskbar icon with no response. The only way I can close the program from the taskbar is to close Windows Xp and restart.

Any ideas??

System Restore?
Nov 17, 2013 5:34AM PST

Everything else works. I just installed Converterlite and this is the only program giving problems. System Restore will delete my download of Converterlite won't it? Am open for suggestions as to other programs to convert from MP4 Video to DVD. Thanks!

I didn't understand ...

Bob's suggestion either.

Just uninstalling seems a much better idea to me.

I've used SR too many times.

When I have a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Whatever converterlite did to the OS should be undoable by either method.

Since it's free, you don't lose any money if you just uninstall it. What do you want to use it for?

Video to DVD
Nov 17, 2013 5:30AM PST

I want to use this program to concert from MP4 video to a DVD format. I want to record church services in MP4 format and transfer to a DVD to play in a DVD player at our Public Access Station for cablecasting.
Any ideas as to other programs to accomplish this task? Thanks!

Roxio and Nero have extensive software...

...for all kinds of media work. I can't say whether they do what you want or not, but if you haven't checked them out, you should. Be aware that they're not freeware though.

Good luck.

Try http://www.dvdflick.net/ It's free and it might very well work.
Write to an .iso file and use IMGBURN (free also) to burn that ISO-file to a disk.

But doesn't your Public Access Station a device (such as a PC) that can play the mp4 directly to broadcast it.
For sound that they recorded, I can't imagine they convert it to audio CD first, and this is analogous.
