Question

program uninstalled but still in the registry/win7

Jul 14, 2019 3:40PM PDT

Segurazo installed w/o my knowledge or approval. I had a hard time uninstalling from control panel but I still have it in my registry. Regedit.exe can't get rid of it. 'unable to delete all specified values'. I need help, it is eating memory.

If safe mode does not work.

Is this prog in your startup group?
Does this prog have a scheduled task to run it?
Is the service enabled to run this prog?
Try signing in as admin to see if that buys you anything.

If you uninstalled it, it no longer exists, so it can't run and can't be eating memory. The few lines in the registry don't count.

uninstalled, it still sent notification of 'threat' in a pop up window. that is a nasty nasty 'av' program. I saw on YouTube that others had same issue with Segurazo.

That's a bad program indeed, if uninstalling it leaves it active. Good to see system restore worked.

Thank you, Kees_B. I'm a 'newbie' but so far have seemed, with patience, to be able to deal with pc issues. Next step Win10.
