Program icon change

OS-ME IE6SP1 Iranview
The icon for this program suddenly has changed from it's program default icon to a happy face.
So far I've right clicked the program, change icon, did a system restore and neither corrected this.
It's no biggie but wondering first why this happened and is there any other way to change it back to the default icon.
Many thanks,
Lee

Lee,

Irfanview is easy to uninstall, then reinstall. That's what I would do first. It should rectify the problem.

For Mark,

Irfanview is an excellent free picture viewer which can be used for a number of things such as changing picture sizes, file types, showing slide shows, etc.

Hope this helps.

OK thanks Grif.

I just wondered if it would have had anything to do with the version of IE he was using, (eg a customised version), and his smiley icon problem. Happy

easiest way to fix this is to download and use Microsoft's TweakUI (version 1.33 for Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98, and Windows 95) which you can get here http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/tweakui (also has installation instructions).

Right click on your desktop, left click on properties, then left click on effects. Then change the icon to whatever you want or change it to the default icon. If you were trying to use the desktop themes, this is another way the icons can get changed.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
