Program for Hard Disk Repartitioning

Oct 11, 2004 12:55AM PDT

Good Day! I need to repartition my HDD (create ext3 partition, shrink NTFS partition) and I've found following products: Symantec?s Partition Magic 8.0, Acronis' Disk Director 9.0 and Paragon's Partition Manager 6.0. Which is the best one for my needs? Thank you!

What would make one "best" for your needs?

All of them will work within their specifications, but could BLUE screen color be an item that could make it "bad"?

I'm not kidding. You might be colorblind and for the software to be best, it can't use BLUE.

I've seen all the ones listed and they all did the job.

I used Partition Magic 8.0 to change the size of my partition, it works well, so far I had no problem with it.

I used Partition Magic 8.00 with some trepidation, but in the course of applying the program I found it to be excellent. I had over partitioned a 160 Gbyte Maxtor Diamond plus 9.0 so that I had two partitons left over of 1250 Mb and 2400Mb which were unusable. I had to tranfer the data using Microsoft XP backup to another storage medium, in my case a new Fujitsu hard drive. I then formatted the partitions separately using Partition Magic and asked to merge them. There was no hitch. I then transferred back the data I required to the new full partition.
