Question

Processing speed has become terrible

Jun 26, 2016 6:46PM PDT

Getting used to, and liking 10 for the most part. When I switched over, it's speed was like a new computer (click on a link or a function - hopped right to it, etc.). But lately it's become slower than 7 ever was, feeling like a ton of browser/cache memory needs to be cleared, etc (which I've done). It takes 10-15 seconds for a page to finish loading so the links are clickable, pictures don't sometimes appear until you mouse over them. Anyone else?? I'm not there to check for anitivrus choices and more.

But here my rather ancient 2009 Sony Vaio 4GB RAM machine is going to get a boost with a SSD soon. Even with it's stock slug of a HDD I find I must reset Chrome once in a while to keep the speed up.

For antivirus I'm using Defender with Adblock+ and Web Of Trust on all browsers that can take it.

browser issue

This does not sound like a windows 10 problem. THis sounds more like a browser issue. I would try another browser to see if you have same problem. May be javascript issue

browser issue

Perhaps I should've stated it as a browser issue. Another "forced item" - although I know you can change it, Edge is given to you upon switching. And it seemed to work great at first.

But yes, I switched over to Firefox for some browsing and had no problems. With that said, anyone else having problems with Edge? And if it IS a javascript issue, what's the fix?? Thanks.

.... Firefox and Internet Explorer occasionally.

But your main topic speaks of "Processing Speed" which isn't really related to browser page speed. Hopefully using a different browser fixes the page loading issue though.

Hope this helps.

See if there is a unusual activity in task manager

Well, I think you should download and run any junk file cleaning software, cleaner, ASC free version. Even after the problem is not solved then make sure that you are not hit by a malware. See if you are seeing annoying ads by removing adblock and use Malwarebytes in safe mode.
Open task manager and check whether any unusual activity, provide a screenshot if possible.
