by davesokal / February 26, 2010 7:43 PM PST

Hi there

I just upgraded to the news 2010/01/25_003001 firmware on my LED ue40b7000 and i now cannot access a number of my DTV channels which just give me the "Data service" message. I have tried retuning the TV but this does not help and I am unable to downgrade to the previous firmware.

can someone please help,
TIA
Dave

odd - but perhaps i can answer my own post! after leaving the tv on a channel displaying "data service" for about 5 mins, all of a sudden i was able to view the channel. fingers-crossed, but all seems ok again.

can anyone let me know what "features" where upgraded in this new firmware?
Thanks
dave

davesokal,

I'm not aware of "data service" being a system message from the televisions. It may be an issue with what it's connected to, such as a cable/sat box. But if you see more of this, keep me posted and I'll be happy to look into it.

Hi there,

thanks for the reply. TV still seems to be working OK with new firmware.

Just to give you some more info on Data Service message:

i) i watch the DTV directly via the antenna and not via any cable box etc etc
ii) I see the data service message on some other channels (also with the last firmware). These channels have names such as Rai HD, which leads me to think that it is something to do with HD broadcasts which as far as I am aware, this TV set cannot decode - is this correct?

TIA
dave

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
