Problems with Samsung Crystal Surround Air Track

Plugged into AC plug in, and having difficulty getting the sound bar and subwoofer working. Subwoofer shows message "Connect Subwoofer" and run through the instructions for wireless connection and nothing happens. Also getting no sound from the sound bar. Appreciate any help.

It's the Samsung - 55" Class - LED - 1080p - 240Hz - Smart - 3D - HDTV Model: UN55ES7100FXZA. I currently have no wires running from the speaker bar (mounted parallel 3" below the TV) to the TV. Just plugged into the wall outlet. The volume numbers change on the bar as I turn the knob, but no volume comes out. As for the wireless subwoofer, tried connecting wirelessly by following the instructions, but unable. Even tried connecting cables from TV and subwoofer (in instructions), but nothing. I get the message on the speaker bar "Connect Subwoofer" or something to that effect. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
