Question

Problems with receiver input switching

Aug 18, 2016 2:10PM PDT

I have a Samsung BD-J6300 3D Wi-Fi Blu-Ray Player (2015 Model)
I have a Samsung BD-J6300 3D Wi-Fi Blu-Ray Player (2015 Model)
and have an HDMI cable from Blu-ray out to Receiver HDMI DVD in. and a HDMI between Receiver and Top box. The only way I could get sound while watching a DVD was to set the input selection to "CD". OK, so I reprogrammed my Logitech Harmony One to "input CD" instead "input DVD" and it works fine when I first select watch DVD then it automatically changes from CD input back to DVD input. If I hit the help button it changes it back to CD input. So my first question is why do I have to have input CD on to watch a DVD with sound (DVD works but without sound), and two, why doe the input switch back to DVD from CD with my Harmony remote?

Thanks?

Thanks?

Answer
If you need work on Harmony setup

Get to those Harmony specific forums. If the Receiver is auto switching, ask the maker how to make it stop.

When posting setup, connection questions, be sure to post model numbers.

Where the heck is the Harmony specific forum? I have been working on this for 3 days and I am going in circles. Do you have a link? I DID post model #s, reread my post.

Thanks,

Remember each post is a new discussion.

I think you had another post with the receiver model and more but this is a new post without any memory of any other discussion. I hold a lot of discussions so my rule is that each discussion is all on its own.

I re-read the post and I think you are trying to do something with the Harmony and for that, I always defer to Harmony support forums.

There is something I forgot to mention. I always check that all the gear in question has the latest firmware. Some Samsungs autoswich without an update.

Harmony support forums

And as I have asked several times now on other posts and have not received an answer, where is the "Harmony support forums"? Do you have a link? I have NOT been able t find one and the Harmony website is a joke. It runs you around in circles. Please don't make suggestions if you can't direct us to the correct location. Thanks for trying...

Since they were easy to find.

I feel it's important to know how to find such on the internet today.

I used your words on google like this.
https://www.google.com/search?q=Harmony+support+forums

And here it looks like the top link. There are a few other forums that look interesting in that search. I feel it's important to teach fishing rather than hand out fish. Some folk are used to "support forums" and demand support. As this is a discussion forum, we discuss issues, toss around ideas and hope that folk learn from the experience. Some get very upset when a fishing lesson is offered instead.

a simple google search came up with

The reality is, in a forum such as cnet, unless there happens to be a member who knows something about harmony, then it is best to go to a more specific forum. found the following real easy with a simple google search. You might also do a search for smart homes since a lot of users who have smart homes are using logitech harmony for some tasks.

Thank you

As I said before the logitech website is worthless. I have lodged in, searched and tried to post only to be sent in circles. Never was able to post. I just assumed since the title of this Forum is "TVs & Home Theaters forum" that I would have success here. I know how to conduct internet searches and had been searching for several hours without finding a decent forum. By the way renegade60, the link you provided is the same as many I have tried before and Logitec is the top 4 sponsored links that are of no use. The others are specific to game devices and others. I have read through all the Logitec self help pages and was not able to find any description that matches or answers my issue. Thanks to all that have tried to help me with this problem. I will continue to look elsewhere. No need to reply.

Cheers,

Something more precise is needed for your issue. Do you have any friends that setup home theaters? Your setup sounds almost there but something's off in some settings. As I don't own your gear I can only use generic ideas on the issue and reaching this point it's time to either head to specialized forums or get some tech to come in and sort it out.
