Problems with Outlook And Outlook Express

Hi
I have used Outlook Express as my default mail handler for 2 years -ever since I got my present computer. It came with Windows XP Home. I recently added Microsoft Office 97 including Outlook, which now wants to take over as my default handler. Even when I removed it, I still can`t restore O.E. as default, and I`ve tried EVERYTHING. I even tried System Restore, and for the first time ever, even it has let me down -after 3 attempts, it refuses to restore! I`ve checked for viruses (Zone Alarm) and don`t seem to have any. Can anyone out there please HELP!?

Office 97 is not compatible with XP. Sure, you will find some that say it works, but I have seen the fallout. To excise it I look up ORK OFFICE REMOVAL TOOL on Google and that usually peels it out IF you can't use System Restore to go back.

In closing, IEFIX may need to be run after removal. And IEFIX is found with google.com As well, Zone Alarm is not an antivirus so I'd ask around about that.
