Problems with my drive letters ???

Model/Manu : TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552L
OS: XP Media Center Edition

audio files (CDA) can not be seen
CD drive can only be seen in "my computer" directory.
CDA audio cds can not be played

I would suspect

I would suspect that the drive has simply started dying. It happens. Optical drives do not last forever, which seems an oddly little known fact. I highly doubt a firmware update is going to magically fix this issue, but I suppose you have nothing to lose at this point.

it is heavily used. just now reading Data CDs is no longer an option. Thank you for the responses. A new drive is getting ordered to replace it.
