If the duplicates share the same filename, such as image001.jpg, then it's relatively easy. However, if the filenames and date stamps are also different it's much more challenging. The best you could do then is sort them by file size and/or dimensions in Windows Explorer, choose a thumbnail view, and look for duplicates manually.
One other thought: When you're looking at date stamps, is it that of the file or that which the picture was taken? The OS will give it one date, but if the camera supported EXIF you can compare them using the date originally taken.
Due to some hard drive problems, I have multiple copies of the same photo on my system. To make matters more difficult, they have different date stamps. Is there a way or a program that can sort through these and help me eliminate the copies?
Thanks in advance
