Problems with Explorer being unable to read folders

Aug 22, 2007 5:19AM PDT

I am having a problem in Windows Vista where some folders when I try to open them make Windows Explorer hang and I have to end the process and restart Windows Explorer in order to resume my work.
The strange thing is, when I rename the folders..... BOOM! Explorer is suddenly able to read those folders again. Same thing when I am trying to open something in one of the folders before I have renamed them with another program like IE7, it can see into the folder just fine and can open the documents in that folder before I rename the folder to temporarily fix the problem.

Has anyone else been having this problem? At first, I thought it was an MFT problem, but then I realized "Wait a minute? If it was an MFT problem, I wouldn't be able to read the files in the folder period."
